LOSING AMERICA
Philippians 3:18- "For many walk, of whom I have told you often, and now tell you even weeping, that they are the enemies of the cross of Christ: Whose end is destruction, whose God is their belly, and whose glory is in their shame, who mind earthly things."
"Statistics show that only 44% of Christians are even registered to vote and of those only 25%-44% of those registered ACTUALLY VOTE! Do you know why this nation no longer reflects a Judeo-Christian world view, no longer reflects the principles of freedom and morality that secure our Liberty, why our elected representatives overwhelmingly lack the understanding of Liberty and the Constitution necessary to preserve it? Because those who are in possession of the meaning and the value of liberty DO NOT VOTE!"
Should the church in America be actively seeking to keep America free, is this the role of the church?
Is our role to preach the gospel, feed the hungry and help take care of the sick, the orphaned and the widow...and nothing else no matter what is going on around us? Can we help fight to keep America free, while we participate in the proclamation of the gospel and helping the less fortunate?
Scripture clearly tells us that we have a heavenly hope and a citizenship that is not of this world, but does that necessarily negate us from working to keep America free? Is God calling the church in America to wake up to the freedoms we are losing and join the battle? If so, would not the pulpits be aflame with the preaching of righteousness or has the serpent deceived many by coaxing us into worldliness and away from the Word that we wouldn't know a spiritual battle if it punched us in the nose? Has political correctness so infected the Church in America that we believe our role is to pray silently, send in our offerings, but not send in ourselves?
We are not a political body sent here to join the Republican Party and fight liberals, this is clear, to do so would make us unequally yoked. The Body of Christ however is truly the sleeping giant in this nation.
While we are awaiting the coming of our King, we strive to obey the laws of the land, to live peaceably with all men, to raise our children to be godly and good citizens, and yes, to love America. And what of the whirlwind around us that seeks to take away the blessings of liberty?
God has mightily and without equal, blessed this once great nation and has used it to bless other nations of the world.
America has been a powerful platform to preach the gospel and to send out missionaries around the world, because we are free. Because of His hand of protection and blessing we have done much to help the poor, the orphaned, the sick. But is it the churches role to protect this nation's freedoms? Some in modern evangelicalism would say no, despite the fact that when and if we do so, we are also protecting the freedom of religion, now under serious attack.
The forces and philosophies against America today can be defined as evil, i.e., Communism, Socialism, Secularism worldliness, idolatry, deception, etc. Should we stand in opposition to these as salt and light? What happens if the salt loses its flavor?
Is not the fight against America's freedoms a direct assault across the bow of Christianity? And if we are to war against this enemy here, in this our temporary homeland, certainly our armor must be firmly in place and our warfare must not be carnal, but mighty in God to pull down the strongholds that have gripped this nation.
We must NEVER put the flag above the cross, this would be idolatry, but when only 44% of the Church is even registered to vote, and not all of them actually vote, there is certainly a disconnect going on and a misunderstanding of the spiritual battle we face, most often played out in the physical realm. - W.E.

“’Don’t be afraid,’ the prophet answered. ‘Those who are with us are more than those who are with them.’ And Elisha prayed, ‘O Lord, open his eyes so he may see.’”
2 Kings 6:16-17a
After reading the local and national headlines, my heart was broken over the clear and very disturbing realization that we’re losing America and any hope our children may have of living the American dream in a peaceful, prosperous nation.
When schools are instituting programs to teach kindergartners foreign languages, abortion is legalized, illegal drug use is glorified, laws are introduced to strip parents of their rights to raise and educate their children, and all efforts are made to remove the influence of Christianity in our society, it is clear that things have changed, and not for the better. Where do we draw the line between tolerance and political correctness and the blatant disregard for the biblical principles on which our nation was founded?
The America of 2012 is not the America I grew up in. People are no longer willing to fight for the values and principles that made our nation a place of great freedom and opportunity. Patriotism and peaceful activism have been replaced with a determined effort to destroy any remnant of moral decency and political democracy.
Who are the ones who will fight to win America back? In Isaiah 6:8 the prophet Isaiah says, “Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, ‘Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?’ And I said, ‘Here am I. Send me!’” I believe God is crying out today for Christians and patriots to rise up and reclaim the America we once knew.
Is it too late to save our beloved nation? Have we passed the point of no return? The last verses of Isaiah 6 give me hope that it is not too late. Although these are the words of the Lord spoken to Isaiah regarding the nation of Israel, they are my prayer for America today: “And though a tenth remains in the land, it will again be laid waste. But as the terebinth and oak leave stumps when they are cut down, so the holy seed will be the stump in the land” (v. 13).
I believe that it is not too late for God to save America, but He needs soldiers who are willing to take up their shield of faith and the sword of the Spirit and fight in His behalf. Will you go? Will you fight to reclaim our great nation?
