PORTLAND, Ore. – Police arrested two people at the Occupy Portland camp Sunday and dealt with several more incidents, including a man who grew angry when a pizza restaurant ran out of breadsticks.
Barry Joe Stull, 53, was arrested after menacing a member of the Occupy Portland security staff with a hammer, police said. Stull was booked into the Multnomah County jail on menacing and trespassing charges.
Police and firefighters also responded to several small fires in the streets and sidewalks around the camp on Sunday, according to police. David Joseph Hodson, 29, was arrested on charges of reckless burning, disorderly conduct, criminal mischief and throwing lighted material on a roadway.
Police said the fires did not cause any damage.
Also on Sunday, police said several Occupy Portland protesters threatened to assault employees of a Pizza Schmizza restaurant and vandalize the business when employees told them they ran out of breadsticks for their order.
According to a Pizza Schmizza spokeswoman, a lone man got mad when he was told by employees that he would have to wait 15 minutes for some breadsticks to bake.
The man then reached for the tip jar and threatened to get more people from the Occupy camp to vandalized the store, spokeswoman Holly Earle-Schultze said. That's when staff members called police.

Additionally, police said a pedestrian walking by the camp was confronted by several young people wearing bandannas on their faces. One of the suspects pulled a knife on the victim, while another tried to punch him in the face, police said.
The victim fended off the attacks and was able to get away without getting hurt, police said. No arrests were made.
